frownies pads?

by admin on Jul.30, 2010, under wrinkle reviews

So, there’s this product i just found out about called frownies..it’s pads that supposedly work to get rid of your "11" wrinkles between eyes and on the forehead.
On drugstore.com, there are about 32 reviews of which 2 were a thumbs down, everyone seemed pretty satisfied.
That withstanding, i wanted to ask this community if anyone has heard or know of anyone using this product, if in fact is a working product, what the long time effects are, and if indeed it really works.

let me know, please :)

This is a old technique you can find in lots of makeup books. There is no reason to buy this product just use masking tape.Masking tape is perfectly safe and has been used for years for this very method. When you go to remove the tape if it is painful to remove just apply a bit of warm water and it will come off easier.

You apply the tape to various areas of the face and it helps hold those facial muscles still. The idea is that by working the surrounding muscles you will strengthen them and it will help reduce wrinkles.

While you can just sleep or lounge around the house with the tape on trying to scrunch and move your face around will get quicker results.

This does work but the results are usually pretty subtle and anything very noticeable will take time. This does not work for some people though. But if you chose to use masking tape your only wasting $2-3 if it doesn’t work for you.

Stri-Vectin SD?

by admin on Jul.27, 2010, under wrinkle reviews

Have any of you boughten Stri-Vectin SD for the use of stretch marks, not wrinkles? If you have, how well did it work? I am thinking about buying it but want to hear some reviews or reccomendations first.

Is there any other creams you know of that have been proven to help diminish the appearance of stretch marks?

Thanks.

I actually bought some after having my baby for stretch marks. It seemed to drastically lighten them. The only thing is it’s very time consuming, you have to apply it like three times a day and rub, rub, rub, rub, and rub it in until it’s completely absorbed in your skin. Lot of work but well worth it. Good luck. Also Costco sells it for cheaper if you have one in your area.

truth about waxing?

by admin on Jul.23, 2010, under wrinkle reviews

PLEASE READ THANK YOU:
I want to wax my upper lip, but am to afraid it will grow out thicker, and then i’ll have to be dependent on it.

it’s not so bad, not like a manstache, but it is somewhat noticeable and it make me feel insecure in public (just posting this up here, i feel embarrased so please no rude comments)

I have been reading mixed reviews about waxing. lots of people have said it doesn’t grow out thicker while others wrote:

"Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you’ve got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles"

so does waxing cause thicker regrowth of hair?

It will actually come in thinner, because you are damaging the hair follicle and it actually makes the hair thinner when it grows in. It will actually after signiciant use you will not have any hair left. If done properly it will not damage the skin or discolor it.. the only discoration you will get is possibily a slick reddness blochiness afterwards.. and if done wrong you can get burnt… Also if done properly it WILL NOT cause wrinkles.. You should depending on your hair growth need to get it waxed at first every 2-4 weeks because your hair grows in 3 different growth phases. But more you do it the longer you go in between waxing.

Dark Eye circles..Not Puffiness

by admin on Jul.21, 2010, under wrinkle reviews

I really need help in trying to get a good eye cream that really works on dark eye circles. I dont want HOME REMEDIES. I would really like someone who has tried a cream that works. I need as many answers as possible. I also dont want to know the cause of dark eye circles, all i want is a review of eye creams that work. Im 21 so i dont really need an anti-wrinkle cream too, but if that is part of the product then thats fine. Thanks!!

Heredity – Dark under eye circles are often an inherited trait. Those who are prone to allergies or itchy skin condition are susceptible to dark circles since inflammation and rubbing of eyes can thicken and darken the skin around them. Some food allergies can also cause the area under the eyes to appear darker. Excess folds of skin under the eyes will also make dark circles more pronounced.

Lack of Sleep – Lack of sleep and fatigue can cause the skin to grow wan and pale. This makes blood vessels under the eyes to appear more visible and dark. The paleness that occurs with fatigue, a cold or sinus infection or during menstruation or pregnancy may accentuate the circles under the eyes. Partying all night and smoking can play havoc with your skin and result in dark eye circles.

Bone Structure – Deep set eyes may have a tendency to develop dark shadows under them. In fair-skinned persons, dark eyes become more obvious.

Sun Exposure – Increased exposure to the sun can draw pigmentation the skin’s surface and create dark circles.

Medication – Drugs that cause blood vessels to dilate may result in darkening circles around the eyes.

Nutrition – Dark circle around the eyes can be the result of poor nutrition.

Hormonal Changes – Since the skin undergoes changes during pregnancy and menstruation, you may notice darkening of the circles under the eyes.

Combat dark circles under your eyes with simple tips:

1. Drink nearly 10 glasses of water everyday
2. Ensure that you get good rest and adequate sleep
3. Eat vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin A.
4. Consume a nutritionally balanced diet

Creams – Topical creams that have Vitamin K derivatives are prescribed for reducing dark eye circles. Antioxidant products containing Vitamins C and E are known to stimulate fibroblast activity in the dermal layer and help firm up the skin. This can greatly reduce baggy eyes that are dark and sagging. Over-the-counter products containing kinetin or AHA are available for regular use to reduce severe under eye circles. Chemical peels may be effective in reducing chronic dark eye circles.

Makeup – Using an under eye concealer is the best way to hide the unsightly dark circles. Do not choose a shade that is much lighter than your skin tone else it will accentuate the baggy dark circles. Dab concealer gently under the eyes and blend it with the foundation. The inner corner of your eye is usually the darkest part, so ensure that it is well concealed. Rev up your tired looking eyes with gold-based concealers. Avoid mascara and eyeliner to the lower lashes for fear of drawing attention to the dark under eye circles.

Rate and review first page of my book?

by admin on Jul.07, 2010, under wrinkle reviews

wait i know it doesnt have paragraphs but stilll just read and review please.

Brooke Marquis stood in front of her full-length mirror checking out her ensemble for the big game. The Raiders have had a great season so far, and Brooke has been to every game, cheering them on with her best friends; Eden, Jordan, and Zoe, Jordan being the one enjoying the games the most, as she was sportiest of the four friends. The other girls go to the basketball games only to look at and rate the boys on the team. Brooke secretly really wanted The Raiders to win because of her best- guy –friend Nathen was on the team. Her outfit consisted of dark-wash skinny jeans, navy ballet top (navy being the school colors), jacket-Hoody from Aeropostale, and Gucci’s newest shoe the “Strappies”. She was sure to please as she always did. Brooke stepped out of the aloe-foot-bath mix that she had gotten from Bed Bath Beyond when she and her friends went to the mall, onto what seemed like a runway of towels leading to her bathroom (ivory as her room was) with white-as-snow counter, tile, bathtub, and shower. She carefully patted dry her feet; if she were to rub them with a towel it would make skin on her feet and ankles wrinkle and sag. She then slipped on the “Strappies” and was ready to go to the game. “Brooke”, said a smooth, man, voice from the black speaker (the only color in her all-white room) “ I’m going to send your friends up there. Are you decent?” Brooke pressed in the black button, “Yeah just send them up Mark, thanks” Mark was the Marquis’s Butler/ Driver. He was old but he didn’t show it with his fitted suit he wears every day on the job. Brooke has often thought about how many suits he owns seeing that he wears that outfit seven days a week. Her friends busted through her door and all said hey or hi at slightly different times. Eden Lowe, being the fashion czar looked at Brooke’s outfit and nodded in complete approval. Zoe complemented her on her outfit then quickly went back to eating her South Beach diet meal. “ Z why are you sooo worried about your weight, your hawt!” said Brooke “ Brooke look at this”, she said lifting the tail of her shirt and pinching her “Barely There Belly” “ I am in need of losing, like, at least 10 pounds if I want to fit into ANYTHING in the Aero sale Monday” “ Whatev Z shut up you look fine!” added Jordan than went back to talking to Eden about something that Brooke was oblivious of, trying to focus on her outfit and Zoe. Sometimes Brooke wondered if Zoe looked at the magazine’s photo shopped models with spray tans, and fake abs and felt insecure. She quickly shook off those thoughts, because NO ONE in the group was ever insecure. Everyone was pretty, had friends and family, had money. What Else? Brooke heard a loud eruption of laughs coming from across her solid white room. “What Happened?” Brooke giggle shouted. “I think Eden has officially lost her mind!” Jordan Yelled “She is actually thinking about saying yes to Chayse Wilson’s offer to go out with her!” Brooke was not surprised at this. She knew how Chayse worked. First he would use Eden to get Abby Cross (head cheerleader) jealous. Once she was, he would just leave Eden out in the cold. And then the cycle would continue over and over. “Eden, Chayse is a creep!” Yelled Zoe in between bites of her meal. “Yeah Eden he uses you more than a towel after a long soak in the hot tub.” Said Brooke. Brooke really wanted to get the discussion off of Eden and onto something else.

A few gramatic errors
Not very smooth, needs to flow
Take out all of you linking verbs they bore me
link verbs are;
am is are was were be being been become became seem appear look remain.
Don’t forget about semi-colens they work well.
I have noticed a few run-ons.
I like the story line but work on the actual content a little more
