A long time ago… long before time itself, when the earth was but a speck of dust and the universe a grain of sand, existed a power; one even beyond that of the gods. A force so strong, so evil, that it was capable of turning even the purest of souls, darker than night. Legend has it that when a god would perish, their being and all of its might would be contained within this entity, and whoever should unleash it, would obtain the powers within the power. For centuries upon centuries, gods fought and many died trying to wield this strength even for the slightest of seconds. Havoc and destruction rained throughout the heavens, washing away all sense of moral(s) and virtue on which Olympus was once built upon.

Many gathered together, and it was decided that the force was too great, too evil to be possessed by anyone, even a god. So it was locked away, and was sent to a world the gods created. A new world. A planet with varied terrains from lush lands to sustain billions, to indestructible minerals, able to withstand an army of countless titans. One with the lowest of valleys and peaks so high, that they brushed the hemlines of the heavens. With oceans so vast they contained creatures, some the size of the gods themselves; oceans so deep, they sat on the underworld. A world full of ignorance, where they knew the energy would not be disturbed. The gods created Earth, the intended and final resting place for this power.

*********************************************************

Kronos stared blankly out of the French windows overlooking the school grounds. As he watched the sun sink deeper into the horizon, he paused for a second, conjuring up the events of his long life. The many ups and downs and how he managed to come out of it all. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his jet black hair layered with faint streaks of white. One the few indications of his true age, that, and his eyes; clear blue and filled with such wisdom and knowledge. The kind of knowledge that could only be acquired over many years, decades, centuries even. Suddenly, he was greeted by a barrage of knocks on the door. Filled with a sudden rush of both excitement and urgency, Kronos paced to the door, opening it to reveal the Moirae, the Fates.

The trio looked like they had escaped from a young child’s nightmares. Their age was written all over their wrinkled faces and their feeble bodies were even more evidence. Clotho, the eldest and the most slender, stood before the rest in a majestic manner. Her once emerald deep eyes had long gone a much fainter shade of green and reflected no light. Her straw blonde hair waved gently to the simple breeze generated by the small metal fan perched upon Kronos’ desk.

“The light of day is fading away, for evil and darkness are at bay,” she proclaimed as she lifted her fragile arm, pointing it sharply at Kronos.

“And what brings you here, fair Clotho,” He replied, as if speaking to an old acquaintance and partially ignoring the existence of the remaining sisters. “It had been a while, since our last encounter.” A playful smirk appeared on his face. “Wait… let me guess, you’ve gotten yourself into another predicament and you-” he paused. “Need my help?”

“Hear her you arrogant fool!” shouted Atropos, her voice laced with urgency. Unlike her sisters, she had very little patience; her temper was as short as she was. Her round figure heaved up and down with every laboured breath she took. She used her frail fingers to push her light grey hair out of her eyes, the same shade as that of her sisters.

“That was a one off situation and what better option did we have. If only this-”,

“Quiet! We have a much more serious matter at hand,’ interrupted Lachesis, the final sister.

“What makes you speak with such imperative?” Kronos questioned starting to realise the importance of the visit.

“We have dire news. It’s the power.”

The words evoked a strong and immediate reaction upon Kronos’ smooth face.

“What!?”

“Yes, the power which was concealed within the fragments and grains of this planet. It is to be disturbed and its rich depth shall be obtained.”

“Impossible!” exclaimed the once calm figure, “As long as I am around the power shall remain as safe as it has always been.”

Atropos enjoyed his anger thoroughly, as a slow smile silently spread across her face.

“But you shall not be here for much longer, fair Kronos.” she uttered, in that same calm tone Kronos once possessed. All the blood seemed to drain from his face. He stayed silent, as if trying to fully understand the gravity of Atropos’ words.

Though it pained him to admit it, the Fates have never been wrong. Not once before. If they say his end is near then…

“Explain!” He demanded in a harsh voice.

Suddenly, the room took on an eerie presence. You can almost feel the growing ten
(Contd.) Suddenly, the room took on an eerie presence. You can almost feel the growing tension; the growing force. The three sisters shifted to join their hands, as their eyes fluttered shut. It was silent for a moment. But then, as if on cue, the lights flickered and the eyes of the Fates snapped open once more. Their eyes were no longer the pale green they were previously. They glowed now, a strange intense glow, a glow that would scare any mortal man senseless. They swayed back and forth as they began to talk, their three separate voices sounding as one:

“The sands of time fall faster and faster;
Marking the start of approaching disaster.
For he who controls these sands of time;
Shall find his end as quick as this rhyme.
The hour draws near, prepare a legacy;
But we warn you now Kronos, choose wisely.
For the ones who lay in the forefront of mind;
Shall be the ones to prove you blind.”
(Contd.) The Fates stopped, allowing the words to hang in the air.
“You talk in riddles old women!” Kronos exploded with rage.
The Moirae didn’t spare another glance at the distressed god. They turned in unison and left the room abruptly. The prophecy had passed, they had delivered their message.
Btw, it catering to a preteen and youn adult age group. So from 10 – 17 age group.

Your story is very realistic, which what I assume you were aiming for. The introduction is very good and definately explains the beginning of the story. Perhaps you could label that as "Legend" instead of an introduction That way readers would understand the setting right off. Other questions that come to mind are: Who is Kronos and what does he have to do with this "Power?" Who are the Fates? These are questions that will keep your audience interested. So when and if you continue the story make certain you keep up the mysterious edges with out giving anything away Speaking of audience to what age group are you catering to?

I’m really looking for one that just improves skin appereance, reduce pore size and reduce my little wrinkles. Also I’m 24 so will it be ok to use on my skin now? How often shall I use it for? I was thinking once a week until desired result then do it once every 2 weeks after that.

Would be really grateful if I can get your reviews.
I was thinking of getting either, youthful essence, Neotrogena or Derma new but cant find any decent reviews.

Thanks!

Have you heard of Dermasponge?

I have tried this a few times, the results aren’t as good as you would achieve from a Salon treatment but I was pretty impressed with it..if you do decide to give it a go be careful not to be too harsh on the skin as it can irritate and leave your face very sore and red!

http://www.tomakeyougorgeous.co.uk/dermasponge

This should be fine for your skin and for what you are aiming to achieve. Use once every two weeks following manufacturers instructions.

Hope this helps =)

concealer: blends uneven skin tones, won’t get in wrinkles, good for under eye bags
moisturizer: helps with wrinkles, isn’t oily, doesn’t stink, and has spf
Links and experiences welcome! :]
Thanks!
I also need something that would help blend under eye discoloration. Under the eyes are seemingly bleached white, and I’d need something to match the undereye to the rest of the face.

mascara : max factor hydro lift but there not going to sell it in 2010 . sad… covergirls lashblast volumnizing mascara is on my list

concealer : maybelline pure concealer is sold at the dollar tree near me. i love it ! haha

moisturizer : i use neutrogena healthy defense spf 30 b/c i have fair skin and i need to always use something b/c im on accutain (a strong acne med that dries you out terribly!)

hope i helped!

So, there’s this product i just found out about called frownies..it’s pads that supposedly work to get rid of your "11" wrinkles between eyes and on the forehead.
On drugstore.com, there are about 32 reviews of which 2 were a thumbs down, everyone seemed pretty satisfied.
That withstanding, i wanted to ask this community if anyone has heard or know of anyone using this product, if in fact is a working product, what the long time effects are, and if indeed it really works.

let me know, please

This is a old technique you can find in lots of makeup books. There is no reason to buy this product just use masking tape.Masking tape is perfectly safe and has been used for years for this very method. When you go to remove the tape if it is painful to remove just apply a bit of warm water and it will come off easier.

You apply the tape to various areas of the face and it helps hold those facial muscles still. The idea is that by working the surrounding muscles you will strengthen them and it will help reduce wrinkles.

While you can just sleep or lounge around the house with the tape on trying to scrunch and move your face around will get quicker results.

This does work but the results are usually pretty subtle and anything very noticeable will take time. This does not work for some people though. But if you chose to use masking tape your only wasting $2-3 if it doesn’t work for you.
